One person died and two were injured in a construction accident Friday afternoon in Irving.

Authorities were called to the Frito-Lay facility in the 700 block of North Wildwood Drive, near North Loop 12 and East Union Bower Road, about 1 p.m.

According to Irving police, two ladders collided, causing the three workers to fall 20 to 30 feet.

Police confirmed that one of the workers had died. That worker’s name wasn’t released.

A second worker was in critical condition at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, and a third suffered serious injuries, police said.

The workers, all men in their 30s, were employees of a construction contractor, police said.

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration was being notified.
